Pre-hospital nalbuphine analgesia.

چکیده

Nalbuphine hydrochloride is an opioid agonist-antagonist that has gained acceptance as a pre-hospital analgesic agent. Nalbuphine has equal analgesic properties to morphine, has a low addiction potential, and can be stored and administered without restrictions, unlike morphine. To date no clinical evidence has been published to support the theoretical difficulty that the action of opioids administered after nalbuphine could be altered or negated. The foliowing case reports highlight 10 patients who received nalbuphine pre-hospital and subsequently required higher doses of opioid analgesia than expected. The discussion summarises the properties of nalbuphine and identifies potential reasons why excessive amounts of opioid analgesia were required. (7Accid Emerg Med 1999;16:29-31)

The effect of pre-hospital administration of intravenous nalbuphine on on-scene times.

The use of intravenous nalbuphine in pre-hospital settings by paramedics has been demonstrated to be safe and effective. We assessed the effect of this additional intervention by comparing the time spent on-scene by ambulance crews treating patients with fractures of the tibia and fibula who received intravenous nalbuphine with those who had placement of an intravenous cannula alone and those w...

Comparative Study of Efficacy of Preoperative Nalbuphine Hydrochloride and Pentazocine Lactate on Hemodynamic Response to Tracheal Intubation and Postoperative Analgesia

Background For General anaesthesia perioperative administration of opioids are choice of drugs to attenuate intubation response and to provide good intraoperative and postoperative analgesia. Mixed agonist-antagonist opioids produces powerful analgesia without undesirable side effects. Aim Aim of present study to compare efficacy of Nalbuphine and Pentazocine on hemodynamic response to trache...
